How long will my Norvell sunless tan last?

The life span of an sunless tan typically last 5-7 days. Following a good skin care regimen before and after sunless tanning will help a sunless tan last longer. Gentle exfoliating prior to a sunless tanning application (24-48h) and keeping skin hydrated ad moisturized afterwards are essential. 

How long should I wait after getting an sunless tan to shower?

Sunless tans can take up to 8-24 hours to fully develop. If you must shower sooner, we recommend waiting at least 8 hours to shower after your Norvell sunless tan. Showering sooner than 24h will cause your tan for fade faster. Life expectancy of fully developed color is 5-10 days. Choose our ONE Hour Rapid formula for a tan that gives you freedom of  ‘warm water rinse’ in as little as One Hour. 1 hour for light tan, 2 hours for medium and 3 hours for dark results. 

Will my sunless tan rub off on my clothes?

To minimize the chance of bronzers transferring to clothing, we recommend wearing loose-fitting clothes after your airbrush. It’s important to note that DHA may stain wool, spandex, and silk. Norvell’s products are all water-soluble therefore, in most cases the color will wash out of nearly all clothing types.

How should I prepare for my Spray Tanning session?

Shaving and waxing should be done 24 hours prior to your airbrush. Shower beforehand and gently exfoliate your skin. We suggest using our Norvell Renewing Sunless Exfoliator for best results. Remove any barriers that may prevent our sunless product from absorbing into your skin such as lotions, perfumes, make up, and deodorant. If you’re getting a manicure or pedicure this should also be done 24 hours prior to your airbrush. Once you’ve had your airbrush done, anything that will exfoliate your skin (i.e. waxing, shaving) will remove the color.

How long should I wait after my airbrush tan before swimming in an ocean, pool, or hot tub?

Chlorine and salt water will accelerate fading. We recommend waiting 48 hours after your airbrush application before going in a pool, hot tub or the ocean, in order to minimize fading.

Will my airbrush protect me from UV-rays?

No, we recommend that all clients still wear an SPF to avoid sun exposure.

Are there any specific instructions for my first shower after my sunless application?

We recommend that you avoid the use of soap during your first shower, and simply rinse and pat dry. Always pat dry after shower, rubbing with towel will cause your tan to flake off. You may see solution in the tub during your shower, but don’t panic – this is only instant bronzer. Your true color is already in your skin.
