Allyson Pennington

I’m Dr. Allyson Pennington, an Aesthetic Medicine Nurse Practitioner at Neroli Medical in Charlottesville, Virginia. With more than 10 years of experience in the medical field, I bring together a unique background in medicine, engineering, education, and artistry to create thoughtful, individualized aesthetic treatment plans.

My clinical experience spans intensive care, women’s health, special pathogens, and higher education. I have a background in engineering and earned my bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the University of Virginia, where I also serve as an adjunct professor.

Before entering medicine, I worked as a makeup artist, which helped develop the artistic eye I bring to aesthetics today. I love combining that sense of proportion, balance, and detail with the precision and problem-solving of my engineering and medical background.

I especially enjoy creating comprehensive treatment plans that consider the skin, facial structure, and each patient’s individual goals. This may include combining skincare and skin treatments with dermal fillers, biostimulators, and other aesthetic modalities to enhance natural features and create balanced, refined results. My philosophy is simple: you should still look like you.

I’m also passionate about staying current with evolving research, technology, and treatment techniques in aesthetic medicine. I love that this field allows me to continually learn while combining science and artistry to help my patients look and feel their best.

Charlottesville is home for me, too. My husband and I met here, and we now share our home with our tuxedo cat, Ollie P.
